Unlucky box : what a scam!

Today I'll talk about a little misfortune that has happend to me a few days ago,
after finally reciving a lucky box ordered two weeks ago.
Before starting I'll simply explain what is a lucky box :
Also know as Mystery Box or Blind bag, it is a package containing a random item related to some sort of media, you can buy one online or during conventions,
but there's something important to know about them, lots are scams! X(
It happens oftenly to find inside low quality items or left-overs, stuff that no one wants to own that the sellers are trying to get rid of.

Even if I was well aware of all the things I've just said, I still gave a try to the one I had bought
by trusting the reviews; All those who bought the same exact box were super happy about their package, showing pictures of Anime figures, apparently all original, in perfect conditions.
Not just normal figures, but big ones, such as prize figs or scales, those type of statues that usually costs from resellers from 25 to 40 €.
the price that this vendor was charging was 10  for a random character, no box included,
I immediately placed an order, already daydreaming about which one I was going to get.

>Delivery day

As the days went by, in not even two weeks I had already recived a message informing me the delivery of the package, I was so thrilled and exicted to finally open the package and find...a total delusion :(

I didn't recive a prize figure or a scale one, I recived a bootleg <3333

Bootlegs are counterfeit version of already existing things, going against copyright rules by stealing their designs and repeating them with low quality materials that are way cheaper and sometimes even toxic, being harmful for the owners safety.
Bootlegs mostly affects both the collecting and the toys industries, for going after popular brands.

I had the luck (yeah sure) to get a fake Qposket of Rem, one of the main protagonists of Re:Zero,
an Anime that I don't even like.
The figure has painting stains in small spots

.Here are some examples.

>Conclusions

Am I satisfied with this order? Not really :(
Am I gonna sell her or throw her away?
Nah, that's a spoiled behaviour that doesn't stick to me at all, I'm gonna keep her as imperfect as she is.

The only answer I can give to myself is that all those reviews are fake, like, I won't ever believe that the same person who gave me this, provider for other ppl such high quality merch.
What's the lesson I've learned? To not trust lucky boxes ever again.

.Life in plastic isn't fantastic.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading, I hope this was interesting and helpful.

Cosplay 101 : My first attempt and some advices!

Welcome to my Blog, it is the first time for me writing in here,

I'm still trying to figure out how this site even works! Lol
So please support my page and understand my total incompetence :3

Today for my first post, I wanted to talk about something really special : cosplaying!
I'll type down about my personal experience and give some advices/suggestions.
First of all! Let's start with the basics

>What is a Cosplay?

Cosplay is the union of the words "Costume" and "Play" meaning of someone who's dressing-up as a ficitional character (it could the protagonist of an Anime, a beloved playable character of a famous video-game or even the mighty hero of your favourite novel!)

.a group of Vocaloid cosplayers.

This phenomenon began to spread between the end of 1930's and the beginning of 1940's in the USA, when the fantasy author Forrest J. Ackerman wore a handmade uniform inspired by the american movie Things to Come.
After that, many DC comics fans started to follow his example, by dressing-up as their favourite super heroes, and in a short amount of time, they managed to catch the attention of foreigners aswell, who came to admire and interview 'em all!
It only became relevant in Japan a few years before the arrival of the new and current millennium, when groups of teens started to show up in Harajuku street wearing outfits and costumes based on popular Anime characters, that was the lucky moment where cosplaying finally became what it is nowdays.

>How do I get a Cosplay?

There are lots of different ways to obtain a cosplay, one of them being making one yourself,
in fact, many cosplayers creates their own costumes, but this of course requires lots of time, energy and SKILLS! without good sewing and painting skills you might end up getting a bad result.

.a handmade Honkai Impact cosplay.

Just because you lack of such qualities doesn't mean that you will never wear a cosplay, you can just buy one. Many sites on the internet sells thousands of different costumes waiting for you to order them!
You can start searching on professional stores, solely dedicated to selling this kind of stuff, or just head to bigger marketplaces, such as Ebay or Amazon, where for sure you'll find a perfect deal.   Second-hand cosplays are also recommended if you're not planning to spend too much.
Sketchy sites are better to be avoided since the risk to be scammed by them is high, always check reviews first and/or visit TrustPilot.

No matter what clothing size you usually wear, there's always a costume that will fit you perfectly. You are never too old or too young to cosplay! If you are a minor dealing with your first cosplay, I suggest you to watch this video, I'm sure it will help you as much as it helped me :)

>Where I can wear my Cosplay?

Right after buying one, it's obvious that the main question is where to wear it lol.
there are, around the world, plenty of events where fans can meet each other and proudly show their cosplays, most of them being Comic Fairs or Anime Conventions.

In Japan one of the most popular events is definetly Comiket :
there the most hardcore fans goes to sell their own fan-comics, called Doujins, and of course they cosplay and enjoy taking pictures of cosplayers.
It's a wonderful experience that takes place only once a year,
I really hope one day to go there :,)

.Two Haruhi and Yuki cosplayers at Comiket.

In America a popular event that is always full of cosplayers is the San Diego Comic Con, which this year will happen in a few weeks, from 20/07 to 23/07, what are you waiting for?
Guess what? It takes place in San Diego XD
If you're italian, or european, instead, events such as Lucca Comics n Games and RiminiComix are both the best decisions to take, especially the Rimini one, since the entrance is free.

Not everyone is always confident enough to appear in public wearing such things, in that case you can just wear it at home and take some nice pics to later put on Instagram or Facebook, the online cosplaying community will always welcome new members!

>My personal experience!

After repeating way too much the words "Cospaly" and "Cosplayers" it is finally my turn to talk about my personal experience with cosplaying.
I came across this intriguing world during the 2020 global lockdown, after watching videos of people getting ready to impersonate their most loved characters.
Later in 2023, I decided that I wanted to try myself joining this experience, and after saving up some money, once summer started I managed to order my first cosplay ever on Vinted, It was the uniform that the students of the Anime My Hero Academia wore during the season 3 sports festival.

.Here it is.

The seller specified that the costume was tight and that it was better to choose a bigger size among the options avaible, and that's what I did; Nonetheless, as I tried wearing it, I realized that the pants were way too large for me and needed to be fixed, what a shame! since the shirt instead fits me perfectly.
I will manage to narrow them soon so they'll be as perfect as the rest.
I haven't  attended an anime convention yet, but I hope to partecipate at one soon, and when I will, I'll be sure to post about it here.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading, I hope this was interesting and helpful.

.Yep, that's me.
